2027 GENERAL ELECTION: Hon. Olowoniyi Akinleminu Declares Intention to Run for MHR… Empowers 500 Residents with Cash Support

As preparations for the 2027 General Elections gather momentum, Hon. Olowoniyi Akinleminu, popularly known as Otunba UK, an Idanre-born, UK-based philanthropist, has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of Member, House of Representatives, Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency.
His declaration followed a series of wide consultations with party leaders and critical stakeholders, driven by his passion for sustainable development and a strong commitment to giving back to his community.
In demonstration of this commitment, Otunba UK distributed cash gifts ranging from ₦10,000 to ₦50,000 to about 500 residents, aimed at cushioning the effects of economic hardship on vulnerable individuals. He also donated ₦250,000 to the Nigeria Police Station, Olofin, to support the purchase of a new siren for improved operational efficiency.
Similarly, Hon. Akinleminu sponsored the WAEC and NECO registration fees of a student of Olofin Anglican Grammar School who had lost hope of participating in the examinations due to financial constraints.
Meanwhile, he revealed that his foundation is set to roll out a large scale empowerment programme in the first quarter of 2026, targeting youths, women, and small business owners across the constituency.
