Idanre Local Government was agog on March 26, 2026, as the remains of late Mrs. Abike Victoria Dairo were conveyed from Bell Mortuary, Akure, in a motorcade to her residence at Odo-Owa, Odode Idanre for lying-in-state and a wake service.
The wake service featured a service of songs, during which the officiating shepherd encouraged attendees to always prepare for eternity. The event also witnessed torrents of tributes and testimonies from children, family members, and members of the public, all attesting to the impactful life of the late matriarch.
The funeral service was held on 27th of March at St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, Odode Idanre, where the Bishop of Idanre Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev’d Dr. Olubode Abimbola Otenaike, spoke on the theme, “Sweet is the Remembrance of the Righteous.” He noted that the late Mrs. Dairo fought a good fight of faith, both in ensuring her children had better lives and in her steadfast spiritual commitment. The Bishop urged the congregation to always reflect on the legacy they would leave behind whenever they attend such celebrations of life.
Rev’d Otenaike further encouraged the children of the deceased and other attendees to always remember to return home and contribute meaningfully to the development of their community. He also enjoined the congregants to look unto Jesus as the author and finisher of their faith.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr. Ifedayo Dairo led a fundraising with a donation of one Million Naira (₦1,000,000) and was joined by friends and family with a total fundraising over 10 million Naira to support the church’s solar power installation, along with the provision of marble prayer desk and chair at their local church in memory of their late mother.
Thereafter, the remains of late Mrs. Abike Victoria Dairo were laid to rest at her residence in a well-prepared tomb.
The reception was held at the Olofin Anglican Grammar School playing field, where Queen Ayo Balogun, Segun Wonders Musical Band, and other musicians thrilled guests, who were treated to a variety of sumptuous delicacies and assorted drinks.

Olujide Olurankinse, Hon. Adeusi Adegunloye, Hon. Ilesanmi Omoloye, Hon. Akin Aribigbola, Hon. Mrs. Mercy Akinlami, Mr. Eric Ayo Bamidele, Reformite Club members,Sigma Club, Ibile Diamond Club, Jubilant Club, Intellect Club members, Royal sisters club, friends from United States, UK, Canda etc. and Methodist High school old students association, among others.
Late Mrs. Abike Victoria Dairo is survived by her children: Mr. Ifedayo Dairo, Mrs. Ronke Akinlose, Mrs. Roseline Akinnaso, Mrs. Foluke Fatokimi, Dr. Dokun Dairo, Mr. Akinyelure Dairo, and Mrs. Bosede Akindugbagbe, as well as other family members.
