GRAND CELEBRATION MARKS THE FINAL BURIAL CEREMONY OF LATE HIGH CHIEF SAMUEL AGBOOLA AKINTAN’S TRANSITION PROGRAMME

The celebration of life of late high chief Agboola Akintan who died on 10th of may, 2022 reached its pinnacle on Saturday, 25th of November 2023 as the cream of Idanre society gathered at a grand party to commemorate the esteemed traditional leader.

The event held at Olofin Anglican Grammar School, Idanre was marked by a rich tapestry of cultural celebrations, heartfelt tributes, and a sense of unity that permeated the air.

The celebration of life started on the 20th and 21st of November that signaled a significant initiative as the program featured a free medical outreach aspect, where thousands from the community received essential healthcare services through eye tests and distribution of free eye glasses to the beneficiaries.

Engr. Rotimi Akintan, who is one of the sons of the late high chief, explained that the free medical outreach was done in honour and remembrance of their late father who was always after the wellbeing of people and most importantly Idanre community in his life time.

This benevolent effort not only paid homage to the late High Chief’s legacy of community service but also underscored the enduring impact of combining remembrance with practical support for the well-being of the people.

Ebenezer Shotolu merry band,Toyosi Akinnagbe musical band, Segun Wonders Musical Band and other musicians entertained the guests at various tents on the field of Olofin Anglican Grammar School where notable sons and daughters of Idanre were served with different meals coupled with drinks of different brand.

Speaking with Platinum Television Correspondent, Mr. Festus Akinmusire who was a beneficiary of the medical outreach appreciated the Akintan’s for given back to the community in celebration of life of their late father.

Dr. Dokun Dairo, who is a son in law to late High Chief Akintan described him as a colossus and encyclopedia of tradition who had a very rich knowledge of traditional culture. He noted that late Chief Akintan was always ready to help the less privileged .

In like manner, Dr. Mrs Tolulope Dairo nee Akintan said her late father was a loving and passionate being who was always concerned about her profession and education of the rest of his children.

Eminent personalities at the reception were Chief Dr. Anthony Omolola, Dr. And Dr. Mrs Omotayo Dairo, Mr Olugbenga Kayode,Mr and Mrs Abiodun Akindolire, Chief Engr. Benson Ajisegiri, Otunba Adesoji Aderemi, Air Commander Adeyemi Akinyimika, Mr. Akinde Kelvin, CPS Olawale Olumagba, Hon.
