In a show of compassion and commitment to grassroots empowerment, one of the aspirant for the seat of Member, House of Representatives, Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Hon. Adeusi Adegunloye, has rolled out business support grants for market women in Idanre.
The grant distribution exercise took place at the popular Alade Market in Alade Idanre, where a transparent selection process was adopted. Beneficiaries were chosen through raffle draw as they picked papers, with a view to eliminating bias or familiarity in the process.
After the process, a good number of market women through the exercise went home with the sum of Forty Thousand Naira (₦40,000) each to boost their business.
Speaking, Hon. Adegunloye described the initiative as part of his ongoing commitment to improving the welfare of women and small-scale traders, promising to continue the exercise at least two market days in a month. He encouraged other market women to remain resolute as they hope to be lucky beneficiaries of the grant in his next visit.
Some of the beneficiaries, including Mrs. Blessing James and Mrs. Babatunde expressed gratitude, praying for the aspirant’s success in his political journey and acknowledging the grant as a timely support for their businesses.
