The remains of late Deaconess Omolabake Eunice Akinduro were finally laid to rest on March 14, 2025, in her country home at Odode Idanre, Ondo State, in a befitting burial ceremony that drew dignitaries, family, and well-wishers.
The journey to her eternal rest commenced on the previous day when her body was moved in a motorcade from Bell Funeral Home, Akure, to Idanre for a lying-in-state and a solemn service of songs.
A funeral service was held at Christ Apostolic Church, Opasorun Odode Idanre, where Pastor M.A. Oluwatola delivered a soul-stirring sermon on the theme “Good Character.” He urged the congregation to emulate Christlike virtues and maintain integrity in their dealings with others.
Following the church service, a grand reception took place at Olofin Anglican Grammar School, where guests from various walks of life gathered to celebrate the life of the late matriarch. The event featured lively entertainment by Destiny Musical Band and was accompanied by an array of delicious delicacies, assorted wines, and drinks.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Ibironke Akinkuowo, the younger sister of the deceased, described her as a devout Christian who lived a Christlike life, a virtue she also imbibed as a Deaconess in the church.
Mr. Adelanke Koni eulogized his late aunt as a woman of virtue and prayed to emulate her good deeds, while Professor Ifeolu John Koni described her as a caring mother figure who looked after her siblings after the loss of their mother four decades ago. He highlighted her kindness, diligence, and hospitality, qualities that endeared her to many.
