The remains of Late PA Benson Akinya Ajibokun, who answered the glorious call on 28th of October, 2024, were committed to mother earth on February 20, 2025, in a befitting burial ceremony that brought together family, friends, and the entire Odode Idanre community.
His final journey home began on February 19, 2025, as his body was lifted from Jidex Funeral Home, Akure, and taken to Olowogbade, Odode Idanre for a lying-in-state and wake service. The wake-keep and service of songs were conducted by Christ Apostolic Church, Olorunsogo, Yaba Odode Idanre, where family members and community representatives testified to the impactful and virtuous life of the late patriarch.
The burial service, held at Christ Apostolic Church, Olorunsogo, Yaba Odode Idanre, was marked by a solemn atmosphere. The officiating minister, drawing from Job 14:14a, posed the question, “Can the dead live again?” He emphasized that death is a consequence of sin from time immemorial and a necessary passage for every human being.
The grand reception at Olofin Anglican Grammar School field was attended by eminent personalities who were treated to good music, sumptuous delicacies, and an array of fine wine in honor of the late PA Benson Akinya.
In an emotional tribute, Mrs. Elizabeth Mamukuyomi described their late father as a caring man who loved and nurtured his children, a trait she has also imbibed in raising her own family in the way of the Lord.
Similarly, Pastor Dr. Jones Oluwafisayo Akinya described their late father as a loving and God-fearing man whose faith and kindness left a lasting legacy. (Dr.) Folorunso Sampson Akinya, the first son of the deceased, recounted how their father ensured that all his children received a sound education and was always dedicated to the work of God.
Pastor Ayo Akinrinle and Mrs. Foluso Mabel, grandchildren of Late PA Akinya, described their grandfather as a man full of wisdom, always ready to provide solutions to those in need.
The children of the deceased, along with extended family members, expressed gratitude to God, their relatives, and all well-wishers who came to celebrate the life and legacy of their father. Indeed, Late PA Benson Akinya Ajibokun lived a life well spent, leaving behind a remarkable footprint in the hearts of many.
